I lubricated my JAUCH three weights wall clock, now the chimes are not synchronized. Need advice please.?

The clock is suppose to chime every quarter of an hour and at the hour it strikes according to the time. One strike for 1 o'clock, 2 strikes for 2 o'oclock, and so on. Presently, it only chimes on the 9, and not correctly. Any clock Doctor in the house? Pleaseeeeee!

Let it just keep running, Usually it will take 12 -24hrs to get back on track with the correct chiming sequence

15 day wall clock chimes at 2 minutes till.?

I have a 15 day wind-up pendulum wall clock, Piranha, made in Germany. It's supposed to gong on the hour and half-hour, however the gong is on the 58 and 28, the minute hand does not float.

There has to be a way to advance the minute hand. If you can't adjust the hands on the face, try removing the back and there should be a way to make adjustments with the mechanism itself.

Good luck

I'll buy it off you for $20. Cash money.

How to regulate a wind up wall clock that chimes?

By regulate, I assume you mean make it faster or slower. At the bottom of the pendulum is a screw knob; turn it to the right shortens the pendulum and makes it tick faster; turn it to the left lengthens the pendulum and makes it tick slower, Adjust a little at a time until it keeps time correctly.

Pendulum will not swing / wall clock repair

1. Have you wound up your wall clock and started the pendulum? Wall clocks have either a swinging pendulum or a balance wheel to regulate time keeping. If you don't see a pendulum attached to your clock movement, then your clock is regulated by a balance wheel. The pendulum/balance wheel is driven by a powerful spring. First, be sure that you have wound up the pendulum spring. Wind it up all the way. It is a myth that you can damage a clock by overwinding, unless perhaps you choose to attach a pipe wrench to the end of your winding key! If your clock chimes and/or strikes, and your not sure which arbor operates the pendulum, then wind them all up! Next, reach into the clock and gently swing the pendulum to one side with your hand. Your clock should now be up and running! Clockmaker's Secret:If your clock has a balance wheel, all you need to do is wind up your clock, and the wheel should automatically start ticking. You should hear a ticking sound similar to that of a mechanic
al wrist watch.

2. Are the clock hands touching? Touching hands are guaranteed to stop your clock! Look at the hour and minute hands closely. If they are touching, the movement will jam and the pendulum/balance wheel won't swing. Clockmaker's Secret: Try moving the hour hand slightly back and forth while pushing it towards the dial in order to clear the minute hand (but make sure it doesn't touch the dial!). If they still touch, you can bend the hour hand slightly back or the minute hand slightly towards you, allowing clearance.

3. Have you moved your mantel? The reason a wall clock with a pendulum stops swinging after being moved is because the clock case now leans at a slightly different angle on the wall then at its former location. Or, while winding, you may have moved the clock by accident. So, be sure that your clock is not ******** on the wall! Clockmaker's Secret: Wall clock movements are adjusted so that their pendulums swing properly when the clock case is level. However, over time clock cases warp, or the pendulum adjustment may be knocked out of kilter. So you may have to put away your level! Simply start your pendulum swinging, then listen carefully to the tick-toc sound. Push the left side of the clock slightly. Does the tick-toc sound seem more balanced? If not, push the right side. When you hear an even, balanced ticking, your done! Your wall clock should now be in perfect "beat". If your clock has a balance wheel instead of a pendulum, your in luck! You don't have to worry whether th
e clock is level at all.

Linden Chime wall clock chimes incorrectly.?

I have a quartz movement wall clock that my mother has owned forever. The face has arabic numerals & The only words are "Linden" above the center, and "Chime" below it. It looks similar to a Howard Miller Elliott wall clock. The clock works & will chime, but it's supposed to chime once on the half hour - instead, it chimes for the hour. For instance - it will chime 7 times at 7:30, 8 times at 8:30, etc. rather than the one time it is supposed to. It's already ben to a jeweler, and he was incapable of fixing it. Is there an easy way to fix this? Failing that, how do I tell who made the movement & where I can get a new one?

Check the hands on the face. Normally they are just a friction fit. Remove the hands and put them back on for the correct hour when the clock chimes on the hour. This should fix the problem.

Normally, when setting a clock like this, never moves the hands backward. Advance the clock and let the chimes complete their sequence at each point where they chime before advancing the time again. To set the clock back when daylight time ends, just stop it for the hour instead of trying to advance the time 11 hours.

ADDED:

The site below has quartz chime movements but it says they give the full westminster chime on at all quarter hours. It also give the hourly chime on the hour. Check it out and see if it's a help.

Is it advisable to shoot the chiming wall clock that someone was nice enought to "fix" at work?

Example: I can use the 45 mag, that should create a fine mess.

Or wait until the weekend, put on a ski mask, pretend you are a burglar, and break into your office and steal it.

As you are making your getaway, accidentallly drop it into a tub of steaming, hot acidic, battery fluid.

Wonder's plan sounds much less complicated, don't you think?

* cries *

ha ha ha...are you sure they fixed it? maybe they made it more obnoxious. 4th of july is coming...i would set a massive destruction of black cats to it and then fire it off into outer space with some rockets....this way, we can all enjoy the show :)

I think that would work just fine.

Maybe you should "fix" it like a cat gets fixed!

Go for it!!!!!

Go for it;)LOL

no, why would you want to do that?
